Matt Rummler – Gyotaku “Fish Print” Exhibition Dec 4 – Jan 2
Matt Rummler creates prints by painting fish he catches in Sandy Hook Bay and the nearby Atlantic Ocean and pressing them against canvas or paper. This traditional Japanese art, called Gyotaku ( 魚拓), probably originated as a way for fisherman to document their catch. Today, this art form is practiced throughout the world, particularly in coastal areas. We are proud to present this unique exhibition and celebrate our coastal heritage and history. Please join us Saturday, December 5th for an artist’s reception from 5-7pm.
